Global Conscience throws party to send off interns
On Saturday July 26 Global Conscience held a day of celebrations to say goodbye to those interns who have worked tirelessly over the summer and to welcome some new arrivals.
The day began with a trip to the beautiful Kumba lake, a favourite outing of the interns for some peace and breathtaking views. Some had a refreshing swim in the lake and everyone enjoyed the sun.
Returning to Kumba, there was a lively football match with interns and GCI staff. The game was undertaken in a spirit of fun competition. Each team scored one goal, demonstrating that everyone is a winner at GCI !
After all the excitement of the day, everyone had worked up a big appetite so they were pleased with the next part of the programme – a large meal cooked by the family of GCI board member XX and hosted at his house. The interns were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed the exceptional food.
Finally, the day was rounded off with a drinks party at a local bar. Friends and associates of GCI were invited to celebrate together the hard work of the past and our hopes for success in the future.
Yuh Innocent, DJ at Ocean City Radio acted as the host, making speeches to thank the interns for their hard work and to welcome the new arrivals.
Everyone drank a toast to the hard work and ended the night with dancing to some African music.
