2007 interns from University of BueaIts so much fun interning in the Global Conscience Office. So much fun because the people are warm and very collaborative in the absence of the usual workplace tension. Every one is willing to learn and there is no master in anything. We have internship positions all year round.

Qualification
Interns may be of any academic or national background and should be computer literate and fluent in English. We however provide facilities for computer training.

Time Period
Interns must stay for at least three months and a maximum of six months unless otherwise agreed.

Nature of Work
Interns may assist according to their background and interests in any of Global Conscience's work: Litigation, Juvenile Justice, Access to Justice, Prisoners rights, Alternative Dispute Resolution Gender Research, Capacity Building, Research on Transitional Justice issues, Publications and Administrative and Management Tasks. The nature of the work to be done during the internship may be agreed upon in advance.

Funding
Unfortunately we cannot pay for the work of interns during field placements. Interns must solicit funds from elsewhere for travel, insurance, accommodation and living expenses during the internship period. However, we provide shared accommodation for Cameroonian interns for FCFA 25.000 a month and US$300.00/month for international interns.

The copyright of all written documents prepared by interns in the course of their work shall be the property of Global Conscience.

Confidentiality
Interns must agree to maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive information related to the work of Global Conscience during and after the expiration of the internship.

Application from organisation or individual indicating interest in our activities and area of training required,

·    Resume of the intended trainee

·    A three paragraph (250 word) letter of motivation. (you can contact the GCI secretariat for directives).

·    Applications can be sent by email, fax or post one month before the desired date for the start of the internship.
