Description:
Global Conscience Initiative is a Cameroonian based grassroots non-profit organization working for the peaceful world through the protection and promotion of human rights, democracy, governance, social justice, and rule of law. We are currently looking for a motivated Senior Administrative Officer/Book Keeper to assist in our Kumba office.
Responsibilities:
Check the completeness of supporting documents, accuracy of mathematical computations, validate authorization, pay bills, manage petty cash
Voucher, record and post all transactions and prepare all related financial reports.
Prepare the monthly financial report.
Prepare documentation required for signature of the Programme Director relative to the requests of receipt and disbursement fund.
Maintain subsidiary ledger for various accounts, cash, and bank books.
Maintain abreast of the latest financial and taxation law and disseminate information to all staff.
Maintain files, books and inventory records organized and available as necessary.
Support CEO and Programme Director as needed.
Answer phones, take down human rights complaints, take/distribute messages and dispatch bier text or email appropriately.
Prepare letters, envelopes, documents, reports, etc.
File, copy and/or mail documents
Send letters of invitations and other required documents for and on behalf of our international interns
Supervise our volunteers
Assist international interns with settling into Kumba.
Qualifications:
Must posses a bachelor degree in financial accounting, banking or the equivalent such as GCE advanced level in commercial education
Must have at least one year's experience in a human rights/social justice related field
Must have a minimum of 1-4 years experience specializing in finance, book keeping, and secretarial duties.
